Local walkers will be steeping out to support this years Crocus Walk in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer on Saturday 28th March. The event, now in its 7th year, will start from 11:30 with walkers meeting at the new fountain in Hesketh Park.Councillor Sue McGuire, walk organiser explained “People can be sponsored to do the walk or they can turn up on the day and make a donation – everybody is welcome."
Carmel Preston explained “Over 40,000 women and 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK, the disease has a devastating effect on thousands of families everyday. By taking part in a Crocus walk, you can help Breakthrough to secure a brighter future for everyone.
